I have pen down this blogpost with immense emotions in my heart. Please empathize with me and try to read with love and joy in your heart.

Since the barbarous and vicious rape of the 23 year old in Delhi, there have been irresponsible comments galore from luminaries across the party lines in India. Our impudent, impertinent and shameless politicians had whole-heartedly showcased their prudence in presenting pathetic advises to combat rape in democratic INDIA. And if their nonchalant advises is to be followed or paid attention to, then according to them:
You all, the women of INDIA should be flocked like cattles into the villages of BHARAT (and not INDIA) where rape is unheard of, you all should be illiterate, you all should not venture out for work, you all should only serve the male members of the society while being covered from top-to-toe and following this would certainly make you all, the women of India, rape-proof.

Don’t you all feel infuriated by these kinds of comments? Don’t you all want to express yourself and show to the entire world what you all are capable of and how great you are? Don’t you want to contribute to parameters of growth of our country and ameliorate your lives? Don’t you want to a give the male dominated patriarch society a run for their money? Even I know that there is a caged bird inside all of you who wants to fly free and express to fullest of its potential…so what are you waiting for?

Don’t bank upon someone in this nasty world to rescue you because it doesn’t take time for sanguine people to turn into a sanguinary. The only person on whom you can count upon even in the middle of the night is you, you and only you. So get up and act and show to the entire INDIA (not BHARAT) that you all are also born with a purpose and this purpose has given you the freedom to go out in the middle and compete with this patriarchal society and there is no one exactly no one who can stymie your endeavor to be someone who you want to be.

There have been numerous developments to counter-attack the reprehensible and condemnable attacks on women like the passing of Anti-Rape Bill, setting aside a corpus of `1000 crore in the name of Nirbhaya Fund in 2013-14 Union Budget and fast track courts but due to lackadaisical approach by the government in dealing in such heinous crimes there has been a colossal gap between formulating a plan and implementing it and the below mentioned facts most emphatically substantiates our government’s lack of zeal to deal with sensitive issues:
  •  As per data available till October 2013, number of reported cases of rape went up by 125% as compared to 2012.
  • 1330 cases of rape were reported till October 2013 against 590 in 2012.
  • Molestation complaints till October 2013 increased by 291% as compared to 2012.So what is to be done?

1.   First of all we need to address the core issues and go into the root causes. Education can be a way to stop these crimes in the upcoming years. Introducing a paper in the grass root level i.e. in schools and not in colleges aimed to sensitize students to sexual harassment and discrimination based on caste, creed, religion and social background can be one way to look at things differently.

2.     A vast range of editing needs to be done in the various textbooks of class 1-7 students because most of them portray that men go out to work for a living and women stay back in home looking after the children. They should incorporate examples of Indra Nooyi (CEO, PepsiCo), Chanda Kochhar (CEO & MD, ICICI Bank), Meira Kumar (Speaker, Lok Sabha) and various such impeccable personalities.

3.     It’s high time that the protestors start looking inwards into our own value system into our own houses and in the way we treat women in our midst. The traditional culture that portrays women as the objects of male desire should be abolished at the first instance available.

ΓΌ According to James Flynn, a world renowned authority on IQ tests, who came out with certain results on IQ tests on 15th June, 2012 reported that women are smarter than men and they scored 5 points higher than men in a scale of 100 points for the first time in 100 years (since the inception of IQ tests).

Don’t you want to be someone like a Barkha Dutt (Journalist, NDTV) or someone like a Kiran Bedi (first women IPS officer) or someone like a Saina Nehwal (first Indian to win a medal in Badminton at London Olympics?). There are innumerable such examples. But it is upto you to act!

Can you accept the fact to keep serving the male members of the society and act at their behest??? No…Right? Time is yours…grab it…
India needs you all badly and urgently because growth cannot be achieved unless the whole of India without gender biasness work in one place in harmony, peace and serenity.

Today I want to ask just one simple question to the Prime Minister of my country. CAN INDIA REALLY PROGRESS WHEN 50% OF THE POPULATION IS BOLTED UP IN THE NAME OF SAFETY?

I would ardently and humbly request you to act and spread this IDEA to such an extent that even Mr. Manmohan Singh who has perfected the art of not speaking does listen to this and in his last two months or so of his Prime Ministerial tenure do something for the women of INDIA so that he can leave indelible impressions in the minds of all the entire nation and most probably resign as a decisive and a strong person as he was known to be during his tenure as Finance Minister of INDIA in 1991 who was instrumental in taking INDIA out of crisis.
